ClickHouse launches CostBench; Iceberg 1.11 adds registerView

CostBench is an open‑source benchmark that evaluates cloud data warehouses on performance‑per‑dollar rather than raw speed. It measures both read‑side query efficiency and, in early stages, the cost of ingesting fresh data, helping teams pick platforms that deliver the most analytical performance for their budget.

Iceberg 1.11 adds a registerView primitive that lets catalogs point to existing view metadata without recreating the view, preserving schema and version history. This mirrors the existing registerTable feature, closing a gap in catalog migrations and simplifying data lake management.
