MCP Goes Stateless, Unlocking Serverless and Edge Deployments
MCP 2026-07-28 release candidate makes the Model Context Protocol stateless, removing session handling and letting any server instance process requests. The change enables deployment on serverless or edge infrastructure and eliminates the need for sticky routing or shared session stores. Teams can now scale horizontally behind plain load balancers with simple HTTP.
