AI Worms Can Autonomously Replicate via Microsoft Copilot for Word
Researchers showed that hidden prompts in a Word document can hijack Microsoft Copilot, rewrite the file and embed the malicious instructions into the output. The altered document then becomes a new carrier, letting the AI worm spread across typical document workflows without the attacker’s original file present.
