Cabinet cleared the ₹84,084‑crore Samudra Manthan programme, which will underwrite up to 50% of deep‑water exploratory drilling costs until 2030‑31. The move targets a 600 MMTOE reserve boost and a surge in domestic oil‑gas output, while funding seismic surveys, offshore infrastructure and dedicated manufacturing zones.
