Project Oberon runs on RISC‑V: full OS, compiler and GUI ported
Niklaus Wirth’s classic Project Oberon system has been migrated from the bespoke RISC‑5 FPGA CPU to the open‑source RISC‑V ISA. The repo delivers a complete stack—kernel, compiler, and graphical UI—so the historic OS can now be explored on any RISC‑V hardware or emulator. This opens a practical teaching platform and preserves a seminal OS design for modern developers.
