EKS now pulls 30 GB ML images in seconds, cutting idle GPU time
The New Stack article shows how reworking the container image pull pipeline on Amazon EKS, using containerd and SOCI snapshotter changes, reduces multi‑gigabyte ML image pulls from minutes to seconds, freeing up accelerators and improving scaling. The technique is now default in EKS Auto Mode and contributed upstream.
