Stripe is buying OpenRouter for $7B+, 5x its May valuation
Stripe has finalized a deal, per Bloomberg, to buy AI model gateway OpenRouter for over $7 billion, roughly five times the $1.3 billion the startup hit in a May Series B. That puts the "Stripe for AI" gateway, with 8 million users and access to 400+ models, directly inside Stripe's payments and billing stack.
