DuckDB v2.0 gets JSON patch diffing, keeping state reconciliation in SQL
DuckDB v2.0 will ship four new JSON scalar functions: json_merge_patch_diff (the inverse of RFC 7396 merge patch), json_deep_merge, json_normalize, and json_strip_nulls. They let pipelines reconcile entity state between systems in a single query, no Python detour; the post benchmarks them against Python on 500k CDC events.
