Peltz circles Wendy's for a take-private after six straight quarters of falling sales
Nelson Peltz's Trian, holding 24% of Wendy's with co-investors like Flynn Group and BlueFive Capital, may take the burger chain private as U.S. same-store sales fell 7% for a sixth straight quarter and traffic plunged 12.5%. The chain also cut its dividend and closed 289 U.S. restaurants in the first half of 2026.
