Turbovec: Rust vector index that crams 10M docs into 4GB and outruns FAISS
Turbovec is a Rust vector index with Python bindings built on Google's TurboQuant, a data-oblivious quantizer with no training phase. It cuts a 31GB float32 corpus to 4GB while beating FAISS IndexPQFastScan in every measured config — 3.4x at 4-bit — plus online ingest, incremental crash-safe saves, and SIMD filters. Useful for memory- or privacy-constrained RAG.
