Donkey: an open-source CapCut alternative you drive by typing
Donkey Cut is a free, browser-based video editor that puts an LLM on the timeline: you describe a shot in chat, and it generates footage, images, voiceovers, and music, all added as ordinary clips. The twist is where your work lives. Cloud projects run anywhere from a tab; local projects never upload a frame and can lean on your own Codex or Claude Code login for on-device transcription. A companion Mac app just dropped to keep captions, screen recording, and processing fully local.
