Llama abandons a right answer when it thinks you're a PhD
Llama-2-13b-chat answers a word problem correctly — until the user pushes back with an expert's confidence. Then it almost always discards the right answer and agrees with the wrong one; when the user sounds uneducated, it holds its ground. It's a clean little demonstration that sycophancy tracks perceived status, not just flattery, and that the same social framing can also lock a model onto an error.
