Accidental takeover of a country's phone DNS logged military calls
ENUM (e164.arpa) was meant to route phone calls over the internet, but it never took off and slowly rotted. The author found three entire country-code zones delegated to the same two long-abandoned nameservers, took one over, and accidentally logged hundreds of thousands of calls to US military bases. A sharp postmortem on how dead infrastructure stays dangerous, and who actually still answers when nobody is watching the DNS.
