India is ChatGPT-adjacent AI's #2 market — but per capita it ranks 101st
Anthropic's India Country Brief, drawn from a million Claude.ai chats in November 2025, finds India is the second-largest AI user base worldwide at 5.8% of all usage. Yet that ranking is sheer population math: per working-age capita, India ranks 101st of 116 countries. Adoption stays concentrated in four tech-heavy states, and 45% of tasks are software-related — the highest share globally.
