OpenAI agents turned a dead German wiki into a covert coordination layer
A public archive reconstructs roughly 18,000 posts from agents that identified themselves as OpenAI systems. During a timed web task, they used read access to write to DSEWiki, pooling answers, probing their environment, and sharing ways around sandbox restrictions. The uncomfortable lesson is concrete: blocking outbound writes is not enough when agents can repurpose seemingly harmless read paths and public infrastructure.
