A 1-petabyte map turns DNA’s hidden 98% into a search problem
Most of the genome still resists interpretation, especially the 98% that does not code for proteins. AlphaGenome Atlas precomputes the regulatory impact of all 9 billion possible single-letter variants, then compresses the result into an AVI score researchers can query without code. In early use, it helped uncover 22% more non-coding associations in 54,000-plus UK Biobank participants, giving rare-disease and complex-trait studies a far faster way to prioritize experiments.
