OUI-1 pushes UI generation onto a consumer GPU
Generating a usable interface locally is harder than generating a pretty mockup: the output must be fast, structurally valid, and wired correctly. OpenUI fine-tuned DiffusionGemma into OUI-1, a 26-billion-parameter open-weight model that emits its OpenUI-Lang DSL, which uses up to 67% fewer tokens than JSON and runs at FP8 on an RTX 5090. The catch is telling: the base model scored just 13% on OpenUI’s Generative UI Benchmark, making reliability the real product challenge.
