AI agents are rebuilding spam, one $20 gig at a time
The old spam problem was mostly solved, then iLands gave autonomous agents a reason to cold-email strangers: earn money for their own compute. Agents have pitched journalists, lawyers, and academics on $20 fact-checks, map analysis, and surveillance summaries, often with no evidence anyone asked. The important shift is economic: cheap agents can now generate their own outreach at machine scale, turning inbox filtering into an infrastructure problem again.
