Small onboard models put target detection on NATO-backed drones
Scaleout Systems is putting target detection and selection directly on small drones, so surveillance and attack missions can keep using machine learning without relying on frontier models or distant data centers. Its lean computer-vision models run on drone hardware, pilot tablets, and field command posts, including the varied equipment used at the edge. NATO’s DIANA program selected the Swedish startup in 2025 for its Federated Aerial Intelligence for Recon project.
