Researchers can now test middle-mile routing methods against realistic, privacy-preserving logistics networks instead of relying on weak public data or proprietary company records. MilleMiglia is an open-source C++ generator that creates benchmark instances for moving goods between distribution centers, including constraints that academic models have largely missed. Google frames it as a foundation for comparing algorithms across supply-chain scenarios, from e-commerce freight to temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals.
