Frontier labs’ safety claims need independent replication before trust
Safety findings from Anthropic, OpenAI, and other frontier labs are often empirical but arrive without code or enough methodological detail for outsiders to verify them. Independent teams can rerun the experiment, stress-test choices such as the pinned OpenRouter provider or LoRA alpha, and publish the replication so others can audit it. The authors see model cards as a high-leverage target, especially when a lab calls a model its “most aligned model ever.”
