SAIR opens a community-led push for open math models
Mathematicians can now help shape open models for research and education, rather than relying only on systems built by major AI companies. SAIR says its first phase will target everyday work such as understanding difficult arguments, checking references, and exploring examples, with models the community can inspect, improve, and run independently. It is seeking funding, compute, expertise, and community-building partners, and plans to add open-source tools for both open and closed LLMs.
