Meta built Muse from scratch, but OpenClaw shaped the product
Meta says Muse was built from scratch, yet OpenClaw clearly influenced the product its team wants to make safe, secure, easy to use, and scalable to billions of people. The overlap is visible in the agent workspace: Muse uses the same file names, including SOUL.md, a Markdown file that sets an agent’s personality and behavior, with nearly identical content. Meta’s Nat Friedman says the team fell in love with OpenClaw after he bought hundreds of Mac minis for it in January.
