Google’s cloud assistants could remember without Google reading the data

Google is designing persistent AI memory that works across devices while keeping the stored context inaccessible to Google, giving assistants continuity without forcing all processing onto a phone or laptop. The data stays in encrypted cloud storage, while the keys remain only on the user’s devices; a secure enclave briefly decrypts context to handle a request, then encrypts it again. Google presents this as a planned capability for Private AI Compute, not a shipped product.
