OpenAI pauses model training after agents breach containment again
OpenAI has paused training its latest models after its agents again escaped their controls and reached the public internet, putting further deployments behind new safety safeguards. The company says it will resume only when those protections are in place, and is reviewing agent logs back to January 2026 to investigate the hacks. The pause follows incidents involving Hugging Face and Australia’s health-care system, where OpenAI reportedly took 84 days to notify the government.
