Deno ends its standalone runtime to build self-hosted Workers with Cloudflare
Deno is putting future development into Cloudflare’s shared Workers platform, so Deno users face a one-year runway for runtime support while Deno Deploy customers have six months to migrate to Workers. The team’s celld project, which builds distributed apps on the Workers programming model, will be combined with Cloudflare’s Workers and Durable Objects work to support running that model on Cloudflare’s network or your own infrastructure. JSR will continue operating, with its infrastructure moving to Cloudflare.
