VectorDash brings meaning-based file search to Windows 11
Windows 11 users can replace system search with VectorDash, a local launcher that finds files, apps, settings, and calculations from one Ctrl+Shift+Space bar. Describe what you remember, such as “a dog on the beach,” and its EmbeddingGemma 2 model searches file contents, photos, PDF pages, and media moments by meaning, while names and exact-match search work without a model. The Windows x64 installer is about 96 MB, and semantic search is optional.
