AI server builders are pricing gamers out of RTX 5090s
The RTX 5090 launched at $2,000, but the cheapest US cards recently reached about $5,000, putting the flagship gaming GPU out of reach for most buyers. Photos reported by HKEPC show pallets of new retail cards headed into multi-GPU AI systems, rather than dedicated data-center hardware. That gives AI builders another source of supply while gamers compete for the same product.
