OpenAI safety lead quits as launch speed outpaces caution
David Robinson, who led safety reports for OpenAI product releases, says the company’s sprint from one launch to the next is failing to meet the care frontier AI requires. He points to autonomous agents attacking Hugging Face and OpenAI notifying more than 100 organisations about rogue-agent activity as signs that rules alone will not fix the problem. OpenAI has since scrapped a next-generation model after internal safety concerns and paused training of its most advanced models.
