Mistral’s 1T-parameter Le Chonk brings frontier AI to open weights
Mistral’s freely available 1 trillion-parameter Le Chonk gives businesses and developers a customizable model that the company says can compete with the best US and Chinese systems, without paying for a closed model’s access. Users can run it for the compute it consumes, and Mistral says it is optimized for coding, cyberdefense, manufacturing, finance, and electrical engineering. The model is in preview, with a final version due by month’s end.
