Claude finds quantum circuits that beat the best published designs
Claude designed eight quantum circuits that improve on the best published designs, in some cases by an order of magnitude or more, which could lower the hardware and runtime needed for useful quantum applications. Researchers gave it plain-language specifications plus an automated evaluator, and Claude worked largely on its own. The circuits target chemistry, optimization, physics simulation, and number theory, including problems relevant to materials and industrial catalysts.
