EN 18286 gives high-risk AI providers a compliance shortcut

Providers placing high-risk AI systems on the EU market can now use EN 18286 to gain a presumption of conformity with the AI Act’s Article 17 quality-management requirements. The standard turns those requirements into a lifecycle-based quality-management system, which organisations can add to ISO/IEC 42001, ISO 9001, or a sector-specific system instead of running a separate one. It is the only AI quality-management standard with that presumption of conformity.
