Shin beat KataGo, but only with a two-stone head start
Shin Jinseo beat KataGo 2–1 in a three-game match, showing that the world’s best human can still win against advanced Go AI when given a roughly 18-point, two-stone advantage, not that humans have caught up at even odds. In each game, Shin played Black with the handicap while KataGo ran on four RTX 3090 GPUs and had 20 seconds per move; downloadable game records make the result available for analysis.
