LifeVal measures whether AI can actually finish everyday tasks
LifeVal gives OpenAI a way to measure AI help on practical tasks, from childcare and budgeting to government paperwork, instead of judging chat responses alone. It combines U.S. and international time-use data with a representative survey of 3,995 people to identify where a personal assistant would help most. In examples on the page, current models score 93.1% on shortlisting kindergartens after a move and 98.0% on organizing flood-preparation volunteers.
