DuckDB 2.0 Goes Server-Side: Quack Protocol, Triggers, New Parser, New Storage
DuckDB 2.0 (fall 2025) turns the in-process analytics engine into a networked server via the Quack protocol and CONNECT, which can also push SQL to PostgreSQL and MySQL. Also coming: triggers, VARIANT, async I/O, a reworked C API, and a new default storage format.
